For a remodeled biomedical research building on the campus of Stanford University, the flexible research laboratories and laboratory support space are anything by clinical in the space designed by HOK. In the aptly named ‘Collaboration Space’, natural light streams in from the skylights and the height of the space is accentuated by custom ARO Plank 1 that seemingly extends to the sky (or at least the skylights). These acoustic panels maximize acoustic absorption and form a comfortable bench in a color palette of greens and blues inspired by the cool blue cypress and verdant Bosc pear green of the adjacent gardens.
