Rain Provides Soothing Streams
At Seattle Children’s Hospital, ZGF Architects made it their mission to balance the delicate needs of patients and care teams in a transformative care setting. The result is a series of calming spaces for both patients and care teams and dedicated areas for rest and respite so that the staff can recharge.
At the hospital’s new entrance, the eight-story facility opens to a soft and flowing interior feature wall with a towering installation of Rain panels in a calming palette of soft and natural whites. To add definition to the edges, End-of-Run Trim in a deep taupe highlights the meandering panel edges. Rain’s playful curves and soothing streams provide sound softening while setting the scene for the support of patients and their families during every phase of care.
